Gorgeous weather at Ringrose Park today as the Magpies host the Bears. A scattering a cloud and a hint of a breeze point towards what should hopefully be an exciting encounter.
The home team are running thin on troops at the moment with Ryan Matterson, Luke Kelly, Fui Fui Moi Moi, Kelepi Tanginoa, Justin Hunt, Kaysa Pritchard and Joseph Ualesi all unavailable for a variety of reasons.
Fabian Goodall and John Folau are welcome returns and they will boost a backline that has been patched together in recent weeks while NYC hitman, Tepai Moeroa is booked to make his NSW Cup debut in the starting backrow.
Wenty were able to overcome the Bears in torrid conditions with a similarly depleted roster earlier in the season and a win here would ensure that the Magpies stay in second place in the NSW Cup.
As always, stay tuned for any gameday changes!

why matterson and kelly tanginoa out for
Matterson is serving a suspension for a dangerous contact charge from the Holden Cup game against the Storm.
Tanginoa was sighted by someone I know is on the money in a moon boot and Kelly (without any evidence) I suspect is on stand by for NRL duties next week.
ok thanks Ron and forty/20 How many more weeks before Matterson allowed to play again
Hopefully today's game counts as the last in his suspension. So ideally he is back next week.
Looks like there are a few changes as numbers #20, #23 and #24 are warming up.
Fabian Goodall and Tepai Moeroa are out there but I can't spot Folau.
I think there are 19 players warming up so obviously 2 will drop off for the game.

How are the bears going in this comp
Wenty are kicking off and running towards the club house today.
come on wenty the bears becuase its not the bears i play for
Goodall is playing left centre with Faraimo on his outside. Matele is at right centre with Fritz.
Big hit to start the game as who else but Tepai nails the North Sydney runner.
Good set of defence by Wenty and the Bears kick from their own half.
Fritz cleans up the ball and returns it to the 30m line. A strong carry from Faraimo gets the ball near halfway and draws the first penalty of the game.
Wenty resume play on the the Bear's 30m line.
