Was told this a few weeks ago and I hate unsubstantiated rumor blogs, and thats exactly what this is. Was told this by someone involved with Wenty, so not really sure how much credit to give it but in light of todays newspaper stories its mildly interesting.
Theory goes The NRL have Wayne Beavis by the short and curlies regarding TPA's and cash payments being organised for his clients. Not just at Parra, but at various clubs. Apparantly he's been hauled over the coals by it, but the NRL want the Hayne Plane to land on the Gold Coast. They feel it's a market they haven't quite tapped and know the publicity it will bring. I think this might come down to what knowledge the NRL has of Hayne himself having any involvement or knowledge of accepting cash. Apparantly Beavis has been telling interested clubs, including Penrith, not to even bother as the NRL will be running an absolute fine comb over any deal and they want him at the Titans.
Nothing would suprise me, as one thing that is absolutely clear is the NRL is a corrupt organisation run by absolute muppets. Match Fixing, leaks, power battles, illegal deals, double standards at the judiciary..it all goes on. Think we're only just started to dip our toes into the problem and how deep it runs in the game. If it's true they want him on the Gold Coast, they will try make it happen.

Of course they would be under the salary cap and no dodgy TPAs
lol so lets see what happens of these 'investigations' into Hayne and Beavis. NRL is a mini FIFA.
