NRL to go all out to retain Hayne

  AFL is a serious threat on the Gold Coast. Not such an issue in Parramatta at the moment and we are not really in direct competition with the Wanderers. The NRL will break their own rules to try to fix this.

  Or maybe the NRL are worried that every other club (outside those that they own) has read up on the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

I don't reckon the NRL would have said that if Hayne was playing for us. “The impression he gave via his manager was he wanted to come back into the NRL to find his feet again’’. This to me suggests that he was always going to Rugby and used this year in a sport he knows well to get his body right. If that is the case, we probably dodged a bigger bullet than we realised.

Agree - he will chase the $$ - - he hasn't exactly set the world on fire over the last 3 years. Maybe League has passed him by and Canavan's just too much of a fool to realise it.
