NRL takes western Sydney heartland for granted

NRL robbing its heartland to prop up the game in Melbourne and Brisbane.I have got better things to do than get in a foul mood every weekend because of the blatant biased referee calls against us.Enough is enough

  • Gotta keep the game big in melbourne mate. such a big market. you think for a second that the Storm fans would turn up if they didn't have the success they have???
they'd all just go and follow their GAYFL teams.
    • I know it's not the best comparison but look at the stats when an Non AFL team tries to crack the market. it's like selling Sand to the Saudi's.

Australian Super Rugby teams sorted by average attendance in 2017

      1) Reds (15,115)
      2) Waratahs (14,500)
      3) Brumbies (9,887)
      4) Force (9,520)
      5) Rebels (8,446)
  • AFL does not hand Sydney teams premierships.
The AFL keeps the finals in Melbourne and when I used to watch the Swans, the Sydney team got no favours
    • This week in the afl only 1 game was played in Melbourne. 2 in Adelaide 1 in sydney

They use the same system as the nrl, used it begore thrm as well.

Also they give new teams like gws, gold coast and even sydney until recently salary cap concessions and extra draft picks.

Can you imagine the uproar if Melbourne's cap cheating years were on fact legal because the nrl wanted to grow the game interstate.

The AFL does way more than the NRL to grow the teams outside of Victoria and the likes of Eddie let you know about it.
    • some call them Sydney Swans. some still call them South Melbourne.
    • lol are you kidding???? Swans got a COLA of over a Million extra for over a decade and have only recently lost it.

The Lions also got it(even though Brisbane was much cheaper to live than Perth,Melbourne and Sydney) when they won their 3 comps and since they lost it have turned to shit.

The GWS and Suns have had 7 or 8 of the top draft picks the last 7 or 8 years.   They have been set up to succeed most fans are pissed at the leg ups they continually get.

The Storm get away with murder because the refs are scared shitless to take on Cam Smith but the NRL is no way in the world as contrived as the AFL.  It's comps are joke.

    • Fair enough
However I was referring to the refereeing and Grandfinals (talk of letting nrl grand finals be played outside sydney)
Don't really pay much attention to AFL anymore
Can't handle it when Sydney does well they call them South Melbourne
    • Thought Melbourne was given a feeder club
Do Swans GES Suns have feeder clubs?
  • Is it worth it if we have to rob Sydney teams of finals matches to get Melbourne
And keep doing it to keep them
    Well you just lost me
    • sydney teams fans will always be there. storm fans won't.
