I know it would never work for multiple reasons but I think if there was a relegation system it would be good if Parramatta was relegated. It could be just what the club needs to shake it up, clear out the mercenaries just there for a pay packet and reform everything. It works over here in England and other european countries (sometimes, not always).

I was giving this some deep thought today Steel.
Why won't it work?
It works well in Pommy Soccer - just copy what they do.
The downside - the Eels would NEVER play FG again.
Put players on lock in contracts for when a team gets relegated they can't bail out until their contract is up.
Mounties don't have many fans and they play at Aubrey Keech Oval which is basically just a park and Wyong have fans but certainly not thousands and they play out of Morry Breen Oval.
I also think comparing the culture of following teams here in England to Australian sports are different. People in England are fanatical about their teams, religious even. I don't get that vibe when I was in Australia, people are more laid back and are not as devoted and it's a different culture/mentality.
I bought this up a few years ago, and I still believe it could work. Two divisions. Introduce 4 more teams and you have 10 teams a comp. Bottom two teams go down, top two go up. More games for television, hence more revenue.
The arguement against is a about lack of talent. For me this why you have two divisions. A super league as such and a 2nd tier. The threat of relegation keeps the interest up for the bottom teams and ensures no one gives up. Making tv games always interesting.
