  4th is best, play Melb in week 1. If we come 2nd or 3rd, we'd play them in a prelim down there. Playing them in week 1 gives us the hardest opponent first and us the best chance to progress to a preliminary and even GF as I think we can beat all the other teams on our day.

    Great point.. beating Melbourne in a pre lim in Melbourne would be very tough

  assuming melbourne make the gf, essentialy we will have 2 chances at beating them if we make the gf.I think thats better then playing them just once in the final series.

  The best team in the finals wins it. Yeah, I know, really profound!
  We've made the finals. Now it's a new competition. If we're going to win the premiership we need to be better than Melbourne, the Roosters, Cronulla and whoever else we play.
  Melbourne are the red hot favourites and they deserve to be. On form, they should win it this year. But we all know that coming into the finals as the best team is no guarantee of anything.

  Looking at that chart and assuming the positions in the 8 stay as they are today, we couod play Melbourne, Cronulla and then the Roosters before playing Melbourne again in the GF if we were to progress that far.

    Camo the sharks and easts do not worry me tbh, and nor playing Melb too. I have faith our team on the day can beat anyone. A team outside top 4 will make prelim imo (pennies) and I think Parra and Melb GF. To me we've been tested the most this season in the top 8 teams ( halves etc) besides the Cows but we are not a real one player team as much as Cows and I think if our halves stay fit this will be our year.
    Having said this i think the main worry for me is the refs....they're rubbish

    I hope you're right mate. Making the GF this year would be HUGE. Winning it would be the very best.
    I'm still sceptical. Our best and our worst are still too far apart. I hope we can show our best for the next 5 weeks but part of me is yet to be convinced that we can.

  Yes mate think we all can be sceptics at times considering the past....I just think our def and effort under BA is stronger than ever over the last 10 yrs tbh and the team as a whole is playing well. We can def do this. We could win the next 3 games and be in the gf

  Agree, it appears the best posi for us is 4th so that we don't get to play Melb again till the GF. Let's hope the Broncos don't stuff it up for us by losing to the Cowboys which would mean they'll be 4th and us higher.

  Assuming positions in top 4 remain as they are Storm first up for us would be great.

  The obvious being stated here

  We win - week off to recover and Storm may suffer another loss before achieving GF

  We lose - play on against teams we CAN beat. Cronulla are way off the pace but no easy push over. Patient and grind better than any other team imo. 

  Roosters likewise - not at their best.

  Of note - Funny comment from Ch 9 team last night - only ONE team in the top 4 have played an 80 minute game during this season (Storm)

  I honestly think we can take the Storm - even in Melbourne - MASSIVE ask but possible - play them like we played the Bronx. Intense pressure on Smith, Cronk, whoever their 5/8 on the day and contain Slater. They like the Bronx like to be in absolute control and do spill their lollies when challenged HARD !

  Unicorn juices are flowing today but.............................?
