No more signing mediocre players

As Jarryd reported in the post match interview, we are paying more than $750k for players who no longer play for us. What a balls up from our previous administration. Having to let go other players to pay for them is outrageous. Why then would we go out and pay for average players only to discard them and see the vicious circle continue. Seeing that we are not in a position to pick up any decent players for 2015, I believe that we would be better off promoting our younger players next year and buy a marquee player for 2016.

  • We should do a bundle buy like Frank on American Pickers and sell them for a higher price before they turn to shit..

    • Now we are talking!
  • FC I understand that every club needs mediocre players but we can produce mediocre players without buying them from other clubs and then try to offload them.
  • We spend our cap space on trash like Toutai. Then we wonder why we have no cap space.
  • What I think we need to do is not sign mediocre players to anymore than a one-year contract.

    • In the end though. We have been a wooden spoon club since 2010 so it was always going to be hard to attract players to come. We have probably had to drop more coin on no talent than any other club around in recent years.

    • That's exactly right! Keep them hungry!

8 Players I believe we are forking out for that no longer play with the club. Can anyone verify if this triplem story is correct ? or in fact Hayne is right in his assertions ?

    • My guess is that Hayne currently being the club icon & team captain would know the approx. situation. He stated $750k so IMO he would probably be close in his statement.

  • Well I thought that Roberts and Matua may have been " value for money" players. and accept that Matua was still battling his demons, but Roberts, he needs to be swabbed the way he is playing for the Storm.
