NO! MANLY WON

hey guys, the fat lady just had a hiccup and Manly have edged the Warriors with a 19-16 win at Brookvale Oval.

So, what does this mean for us?

The teams on 28 points and one win away from securing a top 8 spot are: Roosters,Warriors and now Manly

5th spot Roosters run home:Titans,Manly,Cowboys

6th spot Warriors run home:Broncos,Parra

7th spot Manlys run home:Roosters,Bulldogs

Cheers,The Hayne Plane

  • okay thats good news! :)
  • Yeh, I was cheering for Manly - I've been uncomfortable while we've been relying on other results. Now we win three out of three, we're in!
  • We need the Roosters to lose against the Titans to make things look much better.

And if we win well against the Tigers, then its all aboard tickets please!
  • we will get into the 8 this week if we beat the tigers by 61 pts!!
  • Hey Phil I was just looking at the updated ladder with tonights results and I still can't see how we are assured of a top 8 position
    Here is the updated ladder
    http://www.foxsports.com.au/league/

From what I can see nearly all teams will be ahead of us on for and against by a pretty large margin by this weekend unless we pump the tiggers by at least 30 seeming we are 58pts off 8th spot Brisbane. Warriors are the only team we have control over but they only need to win 1 from 2 and they also are 58pts ahead of us on f/a.

Then you also have Canberra pretty much equal with us.. But fingers crossed they get done by the Drag queens.

So come on Eels let's thump those Tiggers!!!! Burt with 8/8 I'm predicting :D
  • If we win tomorrow we go to 26. Brisbane 26 and Warriors 28. They play each other next week remember.

If Brisbane wins next week and we do, we move up to 28 and if we beat warriors we finish 30, they remain on 28

If Warriors win we move ahead of Brisbane and best they can finish on is 28, us 30.

The only wild card then is Canberra winning there last three as well and nutting it on for and against, but I'll take those odds.
    • we need St George to beat the raiders for us and take them out of the running
      • Which is a given.
    • Cheers Phil that clears it up for me :D
      • i backed em to miss the eight so go warriors and raiders
