You know what I get from the commentary team most weeks is I get we get the sympathy empathetic vote we are going so bad anything that resembles improvement we get the mentioned.
Thing is here when you do a different version of wrong every week it's hard not give the mentioned.
I hear what JR is doing and he's committed to his vision but at the end of the day we don't have the troops to do what's required and it shows up our weaknesses even more.
Fans are going to be have to be very patient again because we are years a way.
Definitely still a few years away but Iongi and Ryley smith are basically 10 games into their nrl career and a lot of our salary cap isn't being used at the moment. Can't expect miracles from this team at the moment but in a few years it's going to be something
I guess how far away we are depends on how Ryles goes with recruitment. Unfortunately he doesn't have the same support that Ciraldo has, which is something Eels need to address.

Ive been scathing about recruitment and development and where we look for talent as an example.
No outside backs for years the best we've bought in the last decade is Semi Radradra as an example but we don't bother going back to that well.
Yet the Dogs have setup an academy in partnership with a club in Fiji.Melbourne are raiding NZ7s as part of there search for talent what are we doing.
We just aren't on the same page as the best in the comp and yet here we are.
I don't follow the reserve grades enough but apparently we are dominating those, it should translate to nrl but the poachers usually get them before they hit nrl
That's a talent identification and retention issue if we are seeing good ones slip through the cracks in mass cough sanders talagi DB that's an issue.
I think Canberra are proving this year, you don't need superstars, you just need the right players.
