Hayne has been carrying this team for sometime now, and our only saving grace last season was the way a few rookie forwards plus Gower, Edwards and co. managed to play above their inexperience.
The emphasis now will really be on our halves to lead the way, and while some leniency should be shown to Norman (as he has played only 1 full season at six), the same will not be accepted with a very experienced Sandow, whom I'm doubt can deliver anything above 13th place for the Eels.
Sandow will not be re-signed.
if he gets wotto and snake, he might have an ok season
We already know how good our coach is. Now we'll find out truly how good our roster is.
With or without Hayne the rest of the squad was always going to improve.
WIth or without Hayne my opinion of BA will be influenced by how he develops the team D.
You can't win comps without superstars but you can make the 8 playing good team footy and position yourself to buy a marquee player or 2. We have a superstar in the making in Tepai. There's no way we can make the 8 but we need to be competitive year round and attract marquee players down the track.
At the end of the day, I don't think BA's approach to next year needs too change much.
