It seems ridiculous that we are playing 3 consecutive home games after the Sharks match yet only 1 at Parramatta. With matches away at Darwin and ANZ it doesn't give Eels fans much of a chance of seeing their team. It is good to see that the hierarchy are appeasing the NRL,ANZ Stadium and the Northern Territory tourism by taking games away from Parramatta but what about the people that count? The Parra fans. If they continue in this vein they will get less members in the future not more fans.

Exactly lol
ANZ is 10 mins down the road!
Its not so much for the fans going to see the game its the fact that we have a great record at home which gives fans a greater chance of seeing the team win. More wins, more chances of making the 8.
I can understand Cagey being unhappy with this issue. Why would he not?
Comparing watching footy from the Colliseum and Parra Stadium is like chalk and cheese. At one venue you are a mile away from the play, surrounded by opposition fans occupuying seats left vacant by our season card holders who don't wish to attend at this ground compared to the anticipation and excitement we all get when walking thru the turnstiles at Parra. There's just no comparison!
I'm with Cagey on this, we have to keep reminding Management we're not happy with this cosy little agreement withANZ.
We're not appeasing the NT Gov, they pay to be be our sponsors
We're not appeasing the NRL, they don't give a crap where we play.
NT Tourism are one of our sponsors so i can see why we are playing in Darwin. But the games we play during the year at ANZ don't make any sense to me. The amount of people who go to the games cold easily fit in Parramatta stadium (not Pirtek) If we didn't fill up the stadium when we played against Rabbitohs then i can''t see us needing to play at a bigger stadium to fit just as many people in that would go to Parramatta.
Just for arguments sake say we make the finals and manage to come in 5th or 6th, because with the new system either of those positions would get a home game the first week of the finals. Considering our record this year i would much rather play at Parramatta rather than ANZ.
Is the NRL going to say that we need to play our game at ANZ?
Yes this topic has been discussed to death here. I think our board are starting to listen to the fans and will cut back on these away gamesin future. They already said no to the souths game this year and hopefully they will continue to say no.
