The great Volzovio of reddit has posted a tweet and credited the scoop to "Pete Badel on Twitter" because saying you've heard whisper is distasteful and misleading to others around you.

This is supposedly for 5years, but have not gotten confirmation - but it seems to be the general consensus. Do we think this will back fire? Who knows, who else has some thoughts after Volzovio of Reddit has once again brought interesting news to our doorstep.

Sure it isn't Parramatta related - but it is a unprecedented amount of money for an almost untested teenager and certainly worth the discussion.

Few issues here for the kid and Newcastle.
Is he worth that monet right now? probably not, its an investment for the future with a kid like this, and imo its unlikely to stay at newcastle long term, he will return to QLD after he's missing his family and friends, the Broncs or Cows will lure him back.
So Newcastle might get him in his developing years for overs but they are unlikely to keep him if he goes there.
And you'd want him to play in the halves for that cash which will take a few years to learn his craft at NRL level
He would have to carry a huge load there and he won't be able to work off top shelf team mates.
IMO he needs to sacrifice a bit of cash and stay with a top competitive team during his development.
They could build a team around that kid, like we were supposed too around Foran.
