Veteran Parramatta centre Michael Jennings and St George Illawarra utility Kurt Mann are the latest players being linked to a possible move to the Newcastle Knights.
Knights coach Nathan Brown is understood to have met with either the players directly or their managers within the past week with both believed to be open to making the move north.
And we have also been told that Brisbane winger Corey Oates, who is yet to re-sign with Brisbane, could be another on the radar as well.
The sticking point with Jennings and Mann is they are under contract to their respective clubs for another season but there is a strong chance both could be released.
The Eels are desperate to off-load players to create some cap space and Jennings is said to be on around $800,000 next season. Negotiations with the Knights would only get serious if Parramatta was willing to chip in around half that figure.
The Knights have also shown some interest in another Eels outside back, Bevan French.

Please Knights do us a favour.
Dont see it happening though as they've just signed Jessie Ramieon from the Sharks why would they invest more cash in that position.Think it's just more unsubstantiated rumours.
Fingers Crossed !
Yes Bris in interesting- King has gone by the way.
king has already gone.
We still need a 2nd hooker Pritchard is a fair back up to Mahooney, No chance of Semi Back, Yes we have made 3 signings but don't forget Maika Sivo he is a star in the making - only young so lets make it 4.
Lol the club is a gift that keeps on giving....create cap space? Where is all the money gone? Things look grim.
The magical date of November 1 sits like a parrot on captain kids shoulder with signing announcements to come, training resumes, new ceo to start work officially, so will be hard keeping that parrot quiet without a lot of screeching protests.
Not sure that MJ would go to NCLE but at $800.00 a season is big coin and he would likely want more than whats left on his eels contract to continue at least one extra year, which might be the sticking point, as that means he plays until end of 2021, given his form at the eels this year I doubt he would last that long.
Who would he put out of a spot in their side?
sione? Unless he’s leaving and there was that rumour that Fitzgibbon is leaving too plus Ross. There’s room for Jennings somewhere there.
