New Stadium FAQ's

NEW STADIUM FAQs:

What will the new Stadium look like?

The Stadium will be rectangular and seat 30,000, with final plans and designs expected to be available in the final quarter of 2016.

When will the new Stadium be ready?

Parramatta’s new stadium is anticipated to be completed by 2019, and will be the new long-term home for the Dyldam Parramatta Eels.

When will construction begin on the new stadium?

With plans for the venue at least 12 months away, construction will not begin until at least the end of 2016. This means the Dyldam Parramatta Eels will continue to play out of Pirtek Stadium in the 2016 season.

Where will we play during the construction period?

At this moment, the Eels have not committed to a specific venue or venues during the construction period. We will continue to ask our Members for feedback over the next 12-16 months as we plan the venues for our upcoming seasons.

What will happen to my seats/ticketed Eels Membership?

Currently, the Eels play across two venues in Sydney (Pirtek Stadium and ANZ Stadium) and while Members seats cannot be identical in the different locations, we work hard to ensure that Members with adjoining seats remain together, seat views are of similar quality etc.

Similarly, over the next 12 months we will communicate with all our ticketed Members to ensure that the process around seating at any future venues gets the best possible result for our Members.

  • Will be great for the thirty plus thousand Wanderers fans, not for the thirty Eels fans that may show up to watch an underperforming club.
    • Because the wanderers had such a great A-league season last season? 9th of 10 was it?

    • all the band wagon supporters are cheering for sydney FC , the fans even gave up on the club last season,

  • Even with their success, Parramatta managed to match the Wanderers pretty closely in average attendances and were still ahead of them on memberships.

    • Eels Avg Pirtek 12,964 (Doesn't include Home games taken away to ANZ Tigers (35,510) and Bulldogs (17,082) or the local derby against Penrith taken to Darwin.

      Vs Wanderers Avg 12,520

  • Q: What will the new stadium look like?
A: A stadium hopefully, but you know what happens when these wanky architects and designers get their hands on things.

Q: What will the playing surface be like?
A: Grass with some lines drawn on it

Q: Will there be parking available?
A: In Parramatta? Are you serious?

Q: What other features will the stadium have?
A: 1. The Eastern grandstand has been designed so that all spectators will now get blinded by the setting sun rather than just a few well positioned spectators.

    2. New loud speakers will be louder and more unintelligible than ever before.

    3. A state of the art 3D video scoreboard which reflects the sun has been included. *3D glasses not included.

Q: What food choices will there be?
A: A new selection between overpriced microwaved items and overpriced deep fried items has been included.
Food and beverage outlets will be buried deep within the stadium surrounds to ensure you miss all the action of the game.

Q: Will this stadium be eco friendly or have any other green credentials?
A: By selectively cutting down all trees in Parramatta Park we have constructed the stadium from recycled locally sourced materials
