Negativity justified.

I haven't watched a Parra game in real time in at least 2 months.... can't handle the losses.... stuffs my mood for a good 48 hours.....

As a  result I have not watched today's game.

Nor have i read any threads... I was about to but was amazed at some the post headers... even a post that said sack everyone...

I put down this year's failure to the coach... DO NOT BLAME THE PLAYERS.... This team ticks all the boxes.... exept the skills attributed to good 6,7 amd 9's. DA deserves to see out his contract after last year, but his selection policies withe respect to the halves was abysmall over the season.

Unfortuantely much of the negaticity is justified., I don't see any positives in 2011... Our recruitment sucks..... big time....

  • now i want them to sign quade cooper more then ever
  • thank you 2011 will be worse untill changes are made
  • Not an Anderson fan, his gameplan last year was throw it to Hayne and no improvement this year.

In fact the more Anderson has tried to coach this team the worse they have gone, when he has just let them play touch footy they have played better.

This means the dude can't coach basically.
  • Not the coaches problem mate!!!

IMO the krux of the problem is the 13 players and reserves that turn or didnt turn up on game day with the right ATTITUDE throughout the course of this season!!!

Whilst i have no doubt the players are the first accept responsibility I have no doubt off field negativity with the losses of Mateo and Inu for starters, and the up grading of Morts and Haynes contracts is constant distractions for the side and this then goes back to the administration side of the club, when the side was struggling throughout the start of the year, and Osbourne came out and said we are not re-signing any more players until they improve................... was IMO one of the biggest mistakes the new CEO made ...........................with Grothe Inu and Mateo not signed at the time after they spent a small part of the cap on Hayne Morts Poore and Tahu this to me was a clear sign of poor communication and general people managment skills this sends out bad vibes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only part I agree with in regards to DA was his constant swapping changing of halves this provides NO Stability to the side at all and does not allow any kind of on field partnerships to be formed but do not forget DA would have been under pressure from administration to justify KK existence and the absorborent amount of cadh they forked out for Morts so naturally the bloke is going to "play arund with the halves" to see what the best fit is and to also justify massive contract upgrades! Now combine that with the usual expected shithouse recruting and retention policies the eels admin have in place and in house board fighting and you have a recipe for disaster!!!

It aint DA"S fault he is involved in the problem but he is not the problem!!!!!!!!!!
  • LOL....Mortimer and Haynes upgrades would have nothing to do with this year. They were both signed long before the season started and there is money left over for others if they were wanted.

Secondly if you want to blame retention of players then Anderson does have to take alot of the blame. There is no way Inu or Mateo would've been let go if Anderson wanted them there. You need to face up to the facts that those 2 players were let go because the coach doesn't want them at the club for whatever reasons.
  • Spot on rod, it was well documented during the end of last season and the beggining of this one that inu and Mateo both wanted to stay, but like I've said in earlier posts, to me it looks like ando never had any faith in Mateo, just from the game time he was getting, and the way he was playing during this year... Very conservative..
  • Umm, what about a 12 game rookie taking 250k a season before 2 longer serving players (Mateo & Keating) are offered anything? Nah, that would have nothing to do with some destabilizing....

I know whom I would have signed up first and it would not have been Morts.
    • Mortimer was off contract at the end of last year, the other 2 weren't.

Secondly they are professional players who should have the drive inside to earn the right to get the contract they were after. If not the pair of them are better off at other clubs.
      • There is a thing called contract upgrade.

Your second point highlights the problem. In a perfect world that drive you mentioned holds true. Not in this era unfortunately. We live in a want and expect everything NOW era without doing most of the hard yards first. Still, the point I was making is, we had these guys playing in the top grade longer and were basically overlooked. I'm sure that would leave a bitter taste in KK and Mateo's mouths.

On Morts, I think there was a bit of a STOP THE BULLDOGS GETTING HIM mentality thus the paying of overs.
  • Thanks Muttman, this has to be the post of the year.

Can someone please send this to the Board!
