Wallabies and New Zealand showed on Saturday night the spirit on how the game should be played. It was televised to each RU nation that every member of both teams embraced the National Anthem. No race or religion, just good old belting the tune out. What did the NRL deliver yesterday. A fraction of each team weakly sang the Anthem, and most did not bother at all, and that is down to Administration of the V'Landys and Abdo game. Race, religion and politics are now a feature of the NRL product along with the man bags, eye liner and brows. And what about the disastrous Swims half time debacle:

My problem with the pregame is that the act was not Australian. It's modern cultural cringe.
What are others sooking about?
My problem with it all is that Parra wasn't playing in it.
urrrrgh
Who do you roll out though? Who is a new "rev up" band/act? The Chats? Psychedelic Porn Crumpets?
Most acts people suggest are geriatrics or close to it.
Flume, Presets, Amyl, Hilltop Hoods, Veronicas, Jet, Kylie, Missy Piggins, Sia, Nick Cave, Angels or I would go with Mammal.
Porn Crumpets.....???
Ya' cover 'em in Pearl Jam
That it wasnt some washed up 80s rock band. If they want to market the game big, appeal to new eyes and try to capture the largest audience, you need a big name performer. Teddy Smith is one of the current trending acts, makes sense to hire him. This is in relations to pre-game entertainment. Of course, the product and main attraction is the game at hand.
Agreed on the washed up 80's bullshit. But Swimmy is just another rejectee from Americas Got Taletz. Like Shannon Noll, but one who overcompensates by getting face tatts and covering an iconic Aussie hard rock song with some hired guns for a band. Dreck. Angus would rather punch Swims right in the cunt than appear on-stage with him
Trending likes of this type of overhyped smegma is often driven by teenage girls, like the old charts used to be.
Australian Music should be supported at events like this....and it's a more appropriate place to call for "Patriotism" than the anthem Alan Kay
I will add that Teddy boy probs played this gig for mass exposure to the Aust "middle of the road" market. Expenses plus a bit. That exposure should be used for our Artists, not some yank with nothing special to offer.
