This story says a heck of a lot.Problem may be in a way is that in another story regarding the 5, they are not to go near the players, but, there is still 4 left on the board.
The Parramatta Eels have stuffed up, but Nathan Peats is the one with the regrets.
It should be the Eels hierarchy whose stomachs are churning for having unfairly changed the life of a player who’s done nothing but put his body on the line for the club time and time again, but instead the 25-year-old has been forced to look back at different decisions he could have made.
And it’s that selflessness to put his body in harm’s way that’s at the top of Peats’ list of things he wishes he hadn’t done while wearing the blue and gold.
He dislocated his elbow earlier this year, and last year played out a match against the Sydney Roosters even after breaking his neck. It speaks volumes about the hooker’s toughness and commitment to the team that he would go through such pain for the good of his teammates.
But he wishes he hadn’t done it at all.
In an interview with Channel 9 sports reporter Danny Weidler aired on Thursday evening, Peats said he had one regret.
“The only regret I probably have is with myself and the things I’ve done during the games,” he said
“I’ve got my body in the wrong spot a few times for the club — or not for the club, for myself and for the boys — and I regret that at times because now look at it, I’m the one walking away.”
Peats is a victim of the Eels’ salary cup scandal, and has been shipped off to the Gold Coast Titans so the club can become salary cap compliant.
They needed to shed $570,000 from their top-25 roster before they play the Rabbitohs on Friday night to be eligible to play for points, something they achieved with Peats and Anthony Watmough leaving the club.

Peats, his wife and 12-month-old son have been forced to relocate against their will all because of the Parramatta management’s shady dealings, but in a final poor, inexplicable act, nobody from the board has bothered to apologise to him.
“Nothing,” Peats said when asked if a single board member had said sorry.
“There’s the board and there’s other people too. They’ve had six CEOs in the past couple of years or whatever it is, they’ve signed some players on big amounts of money for long term deals.
“Everyone’s made mistakes, it’s not just the five blokes who are left. There’s more people to be blamed.”
It’s deplorable that after he’s had to uproot his entire life because of the deceit of others, nobody from the board has even fronted him to own up to their mistakes.
He holds no ill will against his teammates or coach Brad Arthur, but did sign off with this parting shot.
“It’s been a poorly run business to be honest in the last couple of years ... until they sort that stuff out I think it’s going to keep continuing.
“They need to get people in that genuinely love the club and genuinely want the club to succeed and get rid of their egos.
“No-one’s going to say sorry so it is what it is, I don’t really care.
“I’m looking forward to moving on. What’s a sorry going to do?”
Peats said he’s already looking forward to when the Titans play the Eels in Darwin on June 11.

Thanks Nathan for your time here, looking forward to seeing you in Titans colours.....
Not at all what I heard at all
Day have misquoted him
He only said positives
Listen to the interview
Don't believe the DT
Yeah, I saw the Weidler interview too - it's nothing like this piece.
Nathan is taking it all in his stride and is very positive about his future - good on him.
This is what gives journos a bad name, surely the truth would have been a better and more heart felt story, rather than taking quotes out of contact and making it look like an all out attack on the club
