Nathan Brown

Did anyone else watch Nathan Brown at the 9's and think he could make a great No.9?

  • I've seen this posted today, but isn't he a bit big for a hooker? I thought the bloke was a big, angry, intimidating forward? Second rower or lock etc? I am obviously missing something here?

    • hes not tall and not really big, if anything hes leaned up, he could just about play anywhere in the pack i recon although in the modern game i recon you want bigger props than brown.

But you dont have to be real big to be angry and intimidating, hes well big enough to to be both, just hope he doesnt lose any impact with his reduced weight.

I recon wicks lost impact as he lost weight.

    • He's Mark Riddel size ,
He's lost some KGs but I don't think he's got the motor ,
Meaning we would have to.play another 9 on the bench ,
In a perfect world 3 forwards an a utility is ideal ,
Playing hooker is more like a number 7s job in todays game ,so id say he's hasn't got the Footy IQ to play or the discipline to play Dummy half in.the NRL
  • So he's a Peats type player who can cover rake or 2nd row?

    • Im not aware of him having any history at hooker but believe he could slot into dummy half if needed, he could definitely play 2nd row or lock, and prop, and hes got some very good skills for a forward, good hands, i suppose he would be versatile enough to fill in at hooker if desperate.

  • Agree

  • He is a big, angry, forward, and I think we should try and keep it that way. #bringbackpeats
  • He did player number 9 about 20 years ago for the dragons
    • Monto u go around trolling everyone lollll
  • I don't know what everyone's issue is with our dummy half. Yes BA said he preferred an 80 min player and so does every coach in the comp, but that isn't going to happen unless you've got a Cameron Smith. I don't mind two hookers because when fresh off the bench they can lift the tempo and put the defence on their back foot and in two minds. I don't think having a bench full of forwards would achieve the same outcome. If IDG doesn't get knocked out every tackle or King doesn't get injured (again) or Pritchard fixes his defence and stop being a Kamakazi every tackle, they will do a good job.
