Moses and Ryles praise Joash defensive work.

Little note from the presser, Moses and Ryles both full of praise for Joash and his work on the defensive side of the ball. Seems like that's what they mostly want from him at this stage. Keeping his game very simple in attack and focusing on reading the numbers in defence. He may grow into a more attacking role next season but I think the club should still bring in a pezet if possible ? Either way coach and Moses seem happy with Joash work so far.

  • The fact he is not a turnstile is a bonus for sure.

    • For sure, I just looked at his size and new to the 6 role and thought oh Geeze he's gonna get flattened. But completely wrong he's up to the task. Effort level is high

  • Not sure what they see in his defence. Technique is poor.

    contrarian view

    • Yeah I think the 30 tackles last week no misses and it must be his reading of the numbers and plays, things we don't really see. I think our defence as a team unit has just been much better last 5 weeks or so

  • Joash already has better vision than Dylan Brown.   Its just his timing and pass run selection, that will come.

His instincts and speed/ attacking ability are above average, and Ryles would be pleased with his defence.

    Joash is the one

    • if that allows them to spend them money to bulk up the team in other areas im ok with it, Moses Iongi Ryley Walker Da Silva Joash is plenty of spine. 2 more games to see how the spine fires this season

    • Yeah I agree. I would be sticking with him. He definitely has some X factor about him

  • You've got to remember,  Joash has only had half a season in NRL. He is improving all the time. Imagine what he could be in a couple of seasons!

    • Exactly

    • Ive noticed already his passing has improved.   His "early ball" to Williams and drown gave them time and space on multiple occasions.   That wasn't evident in his earlier games.  He's learning fast
