Morts and Shack to Wenty

The Telecrap is reporting that a source in the club is saying that Morts will play for Wenty on Sunday and that Shack is a strong chance to be playing Sunday as well. If not this Sunday next week.

  • Yep, Mortimer to play for Wenty! I thought he was resting and not sacked??? hmmm
  • Great to hear Shack is pretty much back to full fitness and a strong chance of playing.
    Best of luck to him.
  • I think its the same time as the Tigers game. I was gonna do the same thing. But I will be at Parra Stadium.
  • What do you mean again Tony, i would just like to see Shacks get a run longer than 4 minutes!
  • I've maintained for months that Parramatta was doing Daniel Mortimer no benefit by continuing to plan him at seven, while he was struggling for form. Unfortunately, all it's done is set him up for this and given journalists the chance to use a line like "spectacular fall" now that we've finally had to bite the bullet.

You go back and while the Keating/Mortimer combination wasn't working - we clearly pulled the wrong rein. Had we moved Morts back to 14 at that point and combined Robson and Keating, I think we would not be on the ladder where we were, and Dan would have had the chance to get some confidence back up playing in a low pressure position that I believe would have suited him well.

"The chances of him being our 6 next year are very low, if he was a serious consideration he would be playing 6 now with dylan at centre. I'll be very surprised if he is our starting 6 next season unless he gets a lot more time there this season. "

"I think Joash is a good player, but from what I've seen only at fullback or on the wing. Those positions we've got pretty well covered, so I guess he's a great back up option. I'd like to see him in 1st grade, but I dont know how he fits in?"
