You heard it hear, Moses Brisbane offer $6m 5 year offer. He will have to forgo a premiership tho. As I can't see broncos winning one anytime soon. Sad for us but mad not to take it.

This is the moment of reckoning for Mitch. This is a career shaping decision for him. At 27 if he takes up this deal he is basically resetting his career back 5 years. He may or may not get another premiership window like he has here at Parra now, is that a risk he's willing to take ?
Good luck to him either way, he's earned whichever deal he takes.
Bloody oath he has. How a player performs in finals footy is not the only measuring stick, and in any event, Mitch certainly hasn't been awful in our finals losses, on most occasions he's played behind a beaten pack.
Bottom line is he a top 3 halfback in the NRL, and definitely the best available at the moment.
Well given that this is the last guaranteed year of his contract, then yes he is eligible to receive an offer. If he were to activate his option tomorrow, then he would not be eligible till Nov 30 to receive offers from other clubs.
Its a bit of a loophole.
I still think that both he & the club are waiting for the market to set his value.
Andrew Johns is adamant he's not going anywhere. I would assume MM has at least broached the subject with his halves coach.
I still would have thought they cant make an offer until he formally says he wont be taking up the option. Because until he says he wont take the option, he is actual guaranteed a contract for next year.
His body language suggests he is happy and wants to stay.

Totally agree Brett. While I would not like to see him go, if there is any truth in that deal then he would be a fool to knock it back, 5 years at $1.2M is not to be sneezed at, thing is though is that amount worth the likelihood of no premiership? There would need to be big changes and quality recruitment at the mules for them to get a premiership in 5 years.

Well the thing is that if he takes the offer, then he's pretty much put himself in the position where he'll never win a title.
His age oddly enough is part of the problem. If he takes that offer, (assuming its real), they are going to be paying a premium while they are rebuilding. By the time they are ready to geniunely challenge again, he'll be very much on the back nine of his career.
They really need to be chasing a geniune veteran like Reynolds who can mentor their young halves, or go all in on a young half and let the team grow with him.
"Right but there will be 8 weeks less of footy to put on TV. They get an extra 2 games a week but less to put on in those weeks.
Yeah Finals there's less games but it's finals they rate higher than normal but if you give them 2 extra games it is…"

Source? But, fuck that is way too much. Surely Broncos realise they are digging themselves into another hole if they spend 1.2M a year on Moses.
Not if they feel he can get the best out of Haas, TPJ, Staggs, Coates etc.

Is he available to receive an offer yet?
Question you will know Brett.
What are the rules regarding other clubs making a formal offer ATM
1: I thought clubs couldnt talk to players prior to Novemeber a year before there contract runs out?
2: Or would they have to wait until round 10 when he formally says he will not be not taking up next years option?
Therefore can the Broncos even make an offer atm?

I cant see him going.

But again I cant see him leaving as well.
