Ive mentioned my disappointment throughout the year that we didnt take the great opportunity to hook up with a local charity to take our main advertising spot on our jersey for the season, until we find a paying sponsor, its been a huge opportunity lost.
Why havnt we?
This would have been one of the best ways to actually find a paying sponsor, as the deed would have got great exposure and every time it did, it would have highlighted the fact we dont have a sponsor and we are a caring club in its community.
We could have demonstrated like the bulldogs did when similar drama happened to them, that we care about more than just ourselves and it would have had a knock on effect.
The Bulldogs got great exposure during the season for camp quality and every time it was mentioned it was advertising for them in the media that they needed a sponsor, it also painted the club in a good light after a bad year, and they actually really helped a good cause in camp quality.
Its win-win-win situation.
Message to Bernie, you need to get a charity on board for the finals mate, you need to do the right thing and maybe you might actually get something back for it.
Youll get a hell of a lot more back than what we are getting back atm from our main sponsor spot which is nothing.
Lets show what type of a club we are here, lets use our jerseys to actually help somebody instead of seeing it as a pure money spinning opportunity.
We are better than this Bern, weve wasted that space on our jersey all year, when we could have achieved some good out of it.
Its not rocket science, just basic common sense.
Id personally go with the Australian Good Samaritan Donkey rescue if you want to help a great cause and want good media exposure, who doesnt love donkeys? but any charity will do, just get on it for the finals Bern, put the front of our strip to good use..
GO THE EELS!

YEP.
I was hoping they would have had Jersey Day last Friday night - didn't happen.
Cost must also be considered Snake - but none the less - BLOODY BRILLIANT IDEA old son.
Col it would just be an iron on transfer on the front of the playing strip, nothing that has to be sent away to be made jersey wise..
Lol
Good idea Mace, literally anything would do, my Donkey Sanctuary idea was only to give the blog a bit of colour.
But we have to remember the sponsorship wont be making any money for somebody like Brett, im not sure that would even be permissible under nrl rules as its not a registered charity.
It would have to be a charity i think.
But why the donkeys?
With the influx of arabs into this country over the last 50 years, weve got an epidemic of sexually abused donkeys on our hands, its a taboo topic that not many want to talk about sadly enough, thats where i come into it, somebody has to raise awareness on the issue Wile..
