I blame the club for this, just have the guts to tell nsw and Mitch it's not happening till he gets his body right. Now they suffer
We already struggle to sign quality players. Definitely not going to attract decent players if we start restricting them from playing rep games.
He's played maybe 8 games in 2 years for us, I think they are within their rights to sit him and down and protect him a little. Lomax is no issue he can play every origin
How freaking greedy are these pricks?
$1.3 Mil not enough to 'set yourself up' for life?
I can see him being a Tommy Turbo 2.0 for the remainder of his career.
There goes $6.5m !
Manly said nothing when Turbo kept getting Origin injuries. I bet they wished they had said something now.
Injuries happen but it seems Mitch sits out Eels games but is good to go when selectors come calling.
Personally, I don't understand how Origin can continue to dominate the NRL clubs as they do. Winning a comp is everything. It's what the NRL is all about. Yet clubs risk their title chances enormously by having their best players playing Origin during the season. When you think about it, it makes no sense at all.
They had been managing his calf issue at the club but NSW didn't and the injury was the result. Went from 80 mins in dogs game to training for nsw a day later. What did they expect to happen
The players can make themselves unavailable if they want to. The pay day of Origin is too great a lure and the club would be an even less attractive destination if it started telling players they can't play Origin.
That argument is a non starter.
However, that said, it killed Origin in the AFL and if we keep getting manufactured results by way of clearly corrupt officiating, it will die in rugby league too.
8 nil penalty count - most resulted in penalties in piggy back tries for the cheating cunts. If nobody shows up in Sydney, because we're sick of the shenanigans, the concept dies.
Club first they paying big Dollars
if Cleary was hurt and they desperately need Mitch I'd understand rushing him in, but they have so many options at 5/8 they could use it's just silly.
