Not silly when playing the best available. Thats what they did choose the best.
The club pays fcuk all, the NRL pays the salary cap you boofhead!
How do you think they generate the money to pay for the cap.....TV....and origin in the highest rating show in the land!
I think have the State of Origin after the grand final 3 game in 3 weeks that way everyone happy and time to get over there injuries
I don't even care about it these days, just annoying and in the way
It won't work as it didn't in 2020.
Well pause the season and play it over 3 consecutive weeks and play other internationals that time also.
Start the comp late February pause it in late May to mid June then restart the comp until October.
👍 yep
When you have TV audiences and money involved and the crown of the game nrl want the best players selected and played. That's the reality of it Parramatta have zero leverage here what are they going to do put constraints saying hey Mitch you can't play for your state.I mean this is what it is.Crap timing and worst of all bad luck.Mitch went from 2017-22 not missing much time now it's all just caught up.
Unless the powers that be seemingly not wanting to have a look at other options this is what it is and as above not really much the clubs the employers have any power to do anything about it.
Club knew his calf was damaged and he'd been carrying the injury, it's just negligence to send him into origin at that point in my opinion. Played with fire and got burnt. I'm sure NSW would understand if he was held out to rest for 2 weeks during the bye.
I'd say 90% blame on the club and 10% nsw
