Max Popo extends til 2028

Parramatta Eels SG Ball and Jersey Flegg Lock Forward Max Popo has extended til the end of 2028. It is great news for the club as they strengthen their pathways further. From the Pacific Sports Management page.

It is also worth noting, from Pacific Sports, we also signed Stirling Mataniu Faumui, from the Wests Tigers pathways. He is a Utility but played a bit of Lock for Western Suburbs in Laurie Daley Cup. Might feature for SG Ball this year.

      • Yea i think they can only offer a limit number of spots and they get allocated in advance

        • Ohk

  • Anyone seen this Faumui play? Says he played some lock but a google search shows him as goal kicking halfback at u/16s. Does this signing get the collective thumbs up?

I have seen a few comments rating Popo.

  • This is big news, Max is the son of the legendary Mr Popo

    • Poppa will be announcing he is signing on with 1ee for a further 5 years.    $3.89 a season

      • I think you meant a "session" Chiefy......come in a lie down on my couch!

  •  I read somewhere that Stirling Mataniu Faumui is a halfback with a great kicking game and good organisational skills.

    • Can play half but is also a utility and played some Lock.

  • Max POPO is our version of Cam MURRAY.  ( early early comparisions ). If POPO doesnt  do his knee in the first 15 minutes of Sg Ball GF we win comfortably on the back of his workload and defence. He is a champion bloke, super respectful , does all the 1% right.  He deserved that contract.
