In the past i was saying we should play them as they offer experience, but i would not go as far as to say we win if they play as out of our forwards, besidesd Lane, i felt everyone did their job well. Kautoga i felt was quite good, did some dumb things but overall had a good game. Lane got by from experience but compared to him in 2021 or 2022 or even 2023 his efforts tlevel has never really been there.
Would Matterson help? I mean sure he is a steady middle forward and good on an edge. Cartwright would have been a bit unpredictable but he would also been error prone in that type of game. But Doorey did a job yesterday and Tuivaiti showed he is up to the level as he develops further where we might not need them.
Fair enouhg. Generally speaking though, the fact not one forward made over 100m is alarming. You have Lomax doing all the donley work carting it out from the back field.
Shaun Lame's performance yesterday was one of the laziest I have ever seen. Both sides of the ball too.

He doesnt have the legs to make effort on effort plays. At the game you can see he was strggling to keep up with the pace and had hands on knees every break in play. This system calls for fit mobile back rowers, Lane is the opposite
I think Matto would have covered Joe O, LB, what a dissappointment JO has been this year! he had all those leadership positives coming through last year but where have we ended up? with a guy ready for the scrap heap.
No one seems to know exactly what's going on with these 2. Do they have a problem with Ryles as a coach? wrong attitude? are they unfit? or are they genuinely injured? If they've been asked to look elsewhere then we would've heard the rumours - none so far.
There's just over $1m in cap between these 2 players sitting on the sideline. Importantly over 300 NRL games and our side is sadly lacking in experience in the forwards.
I wonder whether the journos will sniff out a story here.

Paulo and Williams made over 100 metres.

Ryles said Matto won't be playing any time soon. Read into that what you will.
would say Carty not in Ryles future plans
