Marc Herbert leaving Raiders

Is Marc Herbert worth chasing as a half back for next year? The Raiders are apparently letting him go and he is looking to kick start his NRL career. From what I have seen of him he does show some promise. He will be 24yrs next year, still young and may have something to offer.

We seem to talking to anybody who has played half so I am suprised his name has not been mentioned.

Thoughts.

  • If we fail to sign orford then go for this kid, he carved us apart when we played them.
  • Yeah don't worry we'll be talking to him.

The club's got nothing better to do than harass players.
  • abit slow Tragiceel, I posted this story weeks ago!
  • havent seen him play much, but he doesnt look to be too great

We have inexperienced halves, if we sign someone they need to be experienced.

There is no use in adding another inexperienced half to the group of Mortimer, Humble, Murray
  • The thing with Marc Herbert is that he's either diamonds or rocks.
There was a patch of form where he was very poor, and those replaced by Josh McCrone, but then was given a life-line and played decent footy, before his form dropped off once more.

If he can show some consistency, and we can't land Orford, then we can possibly give him a crack.
Personally however, I'd still prefer Humble/Murray in the halves.
  • must have missed it, sorry
  • Why do we even want this guy for. He is average at best. Murray is the go for next year as our half. It makes me laugh when I read these blogs about chasing this player and that player. Once again Murray should be first choice half fir 2011.
  • I guess the speculation in almost every way generates points of discussion, hence its prevalence in being constantly posted by members here.
  • Please are you serious im sure we can find better than him
  • look, he MIGHT be worth signing, but we have already made 2 very high risk signings this year. In the halves we need someone proven who we know will produce more than solid footy
