Revealed: Seven Manly players refusing to wear historic LGBTIQA jersey

Manly are facing a major headache with seven players considering not wearing a pride jersey against the Roosters on Thursday.

The Sea Eagles are set to become the first club in NRL history to wear a LGBTIQA kit, but the players in question are weighing up boycotting the match.

Manly players posed in the jersey titled “everyone in league” on Monday, with rainbow colours replacing the traditional white strip.

With strong religious Polynesian group in each team what a stupid no win situation manly have got themselves into.  Scrap the idea or have only half the team wear them and upset the woke elite.  Try to force players, divide the playing group and see demands for release of contract.

Glad Parra didn't do this.

  • Rest of story as I had trouble with my phone

Sean Keppie, Kieran Foran and Reuben Garrick all smiled for photos in the jersey but several of their teammates are unimpressed.

Those players claim they were not consulted by the club before they announced the historic strip would be worn this week.

Nine reported the players, mostly of Polynesian backgrounds, were considering a boycott of the game.

The club will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to find a solution.

Sea Eagles great Ian Roberts, the first rugby league player to come out as openly gay, was hoping to attend the game this Thursday.

“LGBTIQA people have always been a part of sport but haven’t always been allowed the visibility,” Roberts said.

“Honestly I have been trying to get the NRL to have a pride round for the past three years and it still hasn’t got the traction it deserves. It saddens me because they think having a float at the Mardi Gras is enough and it’s not.”

    MORE TO COME

  • Totally respect the players thoughts on this one, finally people stranding up to this wave of woke shit being pushed down their throats.

Leave this nonsense out of RL.

    • I bet after reading this Super has already emailed the Club about doing something similar 😂

    • Parra should have something similar, we should be accepting to all people.

      • Your joking right

      • How about a shirt supporting the Uygurs of China who are being thrown in concentration camps in China for following their faith?

    • " pushed down their throats"

Hey Snake, given what this story is about, that is a really  unfortunate and 🤮 image you have created. Not that there is anything wrong with it ( hopefully that stops me getting a ban)

- 19.8 runs/game
