MANLY are considering signing serial bad boy Kenny Edwards for next season.
A player with plenty of ability, Edwards has been plagued by off field incidents.
But Edwards began his grade career at Manly under Des Hasler in 2008, before being sacked by the Sea Eagles later that season.
He then moved to Parramatta, where he played some fine football, before again being released after a series of misdemeanours.
Edwards played this season with French club Catalans and at 29, still has plenty of good football in him.
Hasler realises he needs to bring in some experienced forwards after losing Lewis Brown, Shaun Lane and Darcy Lussick, while star forward Marty Taupau’s future is in doubt.
The NRL Integrity Unit may need to clear Edwards, however, due to his long list of indiscretions.
Thought they had cap issues?

I think the team really missed his uplifting spirit and energy. Such a pity that the bloke seems to be more dense than a concrete slab. The team song certainly does not have the same pump without him!
True!
Cap, the interesting aspect of this is that Manly was his first club and was sacked from there and under Des as coach. Now they are looking at signing him??? makes one wonder especially with the bit at the end of the article about MT.
As for the integrity unit, they may allow him to return but could be with some baggage such as match suspensions which did not happen when he was sacked by the eels, he had been stood down for a while before the sacking took place, whether the integrity unit sees that as being enough one may wonder.
Des also has said he wants to keep MT, but as he left the dogs when Des was coaching, I think he wants out the question then is where to? With the eels at only reported $200K left in the cap, he's not going to come here for next season, unless of course there is a war chest sitting somewhere for him at the club. He would be a good pick up and really add to our pack though.
Can’t see the Integrity Unit allowing it
Not sure about that BEM, as integrity can be seen in more ways than one. In their case lack of in regards to consistency may be most appropriate.
If he were trying to resign with us I am sure they would step in. Seeing as though it is another club I give it good odds of going through I mean Burgess can flash his business at a fan who didnt ask for it on social media and get nothing but Cory does some consensioul muff diving and gets 8 weeks
not sure about that if they let the bloke that’s playing for Broncos back after what he did in the U.S...no comparison.
