Maitua banned for the first two NRL trials

Reni Maitua will miss Parramatta's opening two NRL trial matches in 2013 after pleading guilty to a high tackle charge.

Maitua floored St George Illawarra back-rower Josh Miller with a swinging arm in the opening minute of the Eels' season finale on Sunday night.

Miller took no further part in the game, though Maitua's suspension equates to little more than a slap on the wrist given he can serve the ban during the pre-season and is free to play in next year's opening round.

      I actually think Reni has been one of our best, and cant wait for him to step up under Ricky, Reni has already said that he owes Ricky cause he let him down with all the drug ban shit

    lmfao - he had one good game against Broncos.

    The fact is in the last 7 games despite playing 80 min in most games he has averaged only 18 tackles a game while missing/ineffective tackles 28 (average 4 per game). If your lock is bludging of course a side's going to leak points.

"He is crap, Hawkins offers more and would rather continue with Joash, has more upside. A big no to Pezet crap kicking, offers nothing in attack and poor defense. As for Wishart he is no half, stiffles the attack and couldn't kick to save himself."
