Lussick,I am done

I was hoping this imposter was forever relegated to Reggie's but now starting .This shows Ryles has no fu-'cing idea.He is without doubt the worst 9 in the nrl system, yet starts for us.That will do me,from bad to disgraceful.

  • Starting hooker doesn't mean he will play the most minutes. Lussick is a big body who actually finished the season off well last year, all things considered.

Hands has been down on form and Ryles has shown that he isn't afraid to drop people who aren't performing/ not buying in for younger players. Kelma, Matto, Carty, Greig, Guymer, Russell, Volkman. We obviously need some experience in the team, hence Paulo, Joffa and Brown still being picked. But when Moretti, Moses and a few others are fit or firing, I wouldn't be surprised if someone like that does get dropped.

In the end Lussick will play 20 odd minutes.  Hopefully lead the line speed and then Smith will come on. Clearly he is our number 1 hooker. He comes off the bench and plays big minutes.

    • Exactly this. Even though he is off the bench, Ryley Smith is our first choice hooker but he just isn't able to play 80 yet.

Hands hasn't been doing too well and as a starter only played 25 & 27 mins previously, so I doubt Lussick will get much more either.

Unfortunately I foresee a lot of (hopefully) short term pain as we don't have too many options at this stage. At least the BA era of blind loyalty is over and Ryles is willing to drop under performing players.

  • He has the odd reasonable game in him. If he can play 2 good 10-15 min stints at the start and end of the game, that'll be his job.

  • Unfortunately Hands has been poor and needed to be dropped. The other issue is Smith isn't quite ready. So probably figures he will go with lussick to play 20 minutes and Smith will play the rest of the game

  • I saw this blog title and thought old mate was announcing his retirement.

  • He actually did quite good if you ask me

"This is the way to go, you want them all to have the best opportunity to swim rather than sink. Too many young players are rushed into first grade and end up not reaching their full potential or even falling by the wayside. "
