Luke Burt Screaming

Watching the game it was quite audible to hear Burt scream for the ball off Wright as the overlap was there on a couple of occassions,i feel this left Burt a bit pissed off as Wrights errors also compacted the fact that he wasn't going to get any ball.Luke Burts conversions were absolutely sublime,i really couldnt fault Burt for having a mediocre game as Wright starved him of opportunities admittedly Burt could have looked for the work but he just looked fustrated.Jono Wright is trying to cement his spot in first grade which is fair but at the expense of passing to an open winger just smells of selfishness,i really do hope this kid sharpens up quick as he looks to be of the same calibre as Taulima Tautai good in passages but really fustrating as errors do seem to mount upin his game.If he replicates Mondays effort by leaving Burty out in the cold,as well as the handling errors i could find myself screaming too.

  • damn right Te maari is the man for the job big strong fast
    • Oake would be picked before Te Maari any day of the week.
  • I seen the frustration on Burt as well. Couldnt believe he didnt pass, burt's speed and elusivness would have netted points. Lucky the game wasn't on the line...
  • yes i noticed it alot during the game he was seriosly fuming at wright on a number of occasions tautai had no chance of staying at parra ive met him a few times through hes flat mate and he told me that the sharkies offer was too good to turn down he was alot better then people remember
  • Jono Wright is the worst player i've seen in an eels jersey in years. even worse than the Keatings.
    • Reckon he is worse than Paul Cariage.I reckon they will be on the same level?
  • Yeh, Burt's face and body language indicate he is not a happy chap out there.. It's been ongoing for a while now, he almost looks like a spoilt child who doesn't get what he wants.

I for one am really gettin annoyed with him, it's like he stays there in the wing with his arms on his hips waiting to be spoon fed...

Burt, you're a grown man, get your shit together please!! You're supposed to be a senior player who others are supposed look up to, and get motivation from.

I can't blame Wright for not passing it to him anyway. Jono would probably drop the ball or fumble it while attempting the pass. While he makes the run in my head Im just thinking 'please just hold it, and don't drop it or try anything silly'

Sure if he makes the pass they score, but with Wright, theres a good chance the pass would go straight to the ground..
  • I don't agree that Luke was like a spoilt child when Jono didn't pass to him, Luke is a team player and he knew how important games are at the tail end of the comp and he wants parra to reach the 8 and he has the ability to help get us there so I can understand him being pissed off, as for him getting off his but and go looking for the ball he did do that in the second half on several occasions because he realized that he was not going to see the ball on the wing and did put a nice grubber through that had to be defused by the cowboys and got us another six tackles. Jono did make a few mistakes early in the game and like others have written myself and others supporters seated around me were all saying don't drop it whenever he got the ball as the game progressed. As for Inu he has to give some thought to the things he does, at one stage he caught the ball in our danger zone and instead of taking the tackle he tried to pass the ball and stuffed it up and gave the ball back to the cows in good position.
    • I have seen Burt in the last few weeks/months showing anger at Tahu, Jono, Jarryd and others, for either not passing or dropping the ball.

He gets angry, gives them a dirty look, and walks his little toosh back to the defence line.

To me, I see that as spoilt, negative, lack of respect ..etc etc.

Now you may see it a different way, but to me it just shows that he is not a team player and has no respect to his fellow team mates.. Everyone else would support the player, give them a little tap or rub of the hair and tell them it's all good.

How does having a hissy fit help the team get confidence? Or get the team back on track? I wouldn't be happy with all these errors and the fact that we aren't winning, but you don't kick your team mates while they are down already..

      Support is what is needed.
  • I reckon worse, at least Cariage looked like he wanted to be a team player!

""Chance is mist" is a really appropriate typo/autocorrect. The chance just goes pfft, evaporates into nothing. Not sure Dylan B has got the mix right this year, more often passing when he should run or running when he should pass. "
