Former Eels winger Luke Burt has collected the first premiership of his coaching career, leading the Burleigh Bears to the Queensland Cup title.
Burt took over as Bears head coach at the start of 2023, with the club collecting the minor premiership before falling in the grand final.
The Parramatta record try scorer has been in the coaching ranks since he moved into the Eels NYC hot seat in 2015, taking a side featuring Dylan Brown, Ray Stone and Reed Mahoney to the 2017 grand final.
After 2 seasons at the Titans, finishing as an interim co-coach in 2019, he moved into the commercial side of the Titans before returning to coaching.
Burleigh will take on the Auckland Warriors in the Inter-state Championship on Grand Final day in Sydney.

Sounds and looks like he's building his resume nicely is Burt.No doubt one day an nrl head coaching position lies in waiting for him.
That u20s squad played some good footy and had a decent crop in heard a story that Burt expected to transition into the 1st grade assistant role to help build off of that success with that group but BA bloked it and that's why he left after that U20s GF
I don't doubt that, sounds like classic BA decision making.
