LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON

Because it is the time of the resurrection I should tell you of my Sunday and my Monday (today). On Sunday I had my bag stolen from a Chinese restaurant where I was having a meal. I thought that I knew who it was who stole my bag. I went looking for him in the street but could not find him. I had some important things in the bag like lotto tickets and a keno ticket. I also had my reserve hearing aid and batteries plus some papers of value and odds and ends. There was a week`s supply of contraceptives--rubbers, pills, and cream. There was also a thing the Asians call Gnudais a herbal contraceptive.  I asked why they have so many children if the contraceptive is the name of the game? They say they give to the men because it does not work on them? They said it works on women but we want babies so we give it to the men! I said I think I follow the logic--just.

This morning the first e-mail I received was from the Parramatta Railway Station saying that I could collect my bag at my earliest convenience!  So I went post-haste to the Lost Property Office where I received my bag. I asked who turned it in. They had no idea. So with much relief, I got my bag back. I checked the contents and they were all there except you know what? I was a new man--resurrected indeed.

About two years ago I blogged about the women who sat beside me at the football. I saw her for the first that year and wished her Happy New Year. She put her arms around me and kissed me on the lips! It the first time in twenty-five years that I had been kissed on the lips, whilst I was surprised, it was good. Her hubby was sitting next to her and did not budge. In time we lost contact. I started to not go to the stadium. On the odd occasion that I did go, she was not there. Today when walking into the entrance a woman was calling out Robert, Robert and looking at me. I pointed to myself to ask if she meant me? She nodded and I went over to her and it was the women who once sat beside me at the footy. She had hardly changed at all. We shook hands and explained where we were sitting. She is now living in Newcastle. She left at 6.0 am to drive down to see the footy! A true believer. I don't know if I will see her again. I feel like a new man truly resurrected.

  • Haven’t been kissed in 25 years. That explains a lot. I just thought you were a grumpy old man, now I know you’re climbing the walls you poor man.

  • If you haven’t been kissed in 25 years why a weeks supply of rubbers and contraceptives old man?

Another question; are you sure this Sheila isn’t Carlo - she lives up in Newie?
