Just looking at the ladder and recent results, bulldogs raiders both had strong seasons last year and now look horrible and languishing at the bottom of the table. Yes recruitment and coaching is imporant but you also need a hell of a lot of luck with draw, bounce of ball and injury. I think considering everything that has gone wrong for us in first 10 rounds Ryles has done well. Ciraldo and Ricky not so much 😂

The cream usually rises to the top Eli. Diligent recruitment, player development, coaching and strength and fitness are big factors. Id give luck less than 10% of most teams success in any season. I do believe the club is on a winner with Ryles. He's doing a fine job considering the roster and a huge injury toll.
It's a balance yeah, but a team like raiders dogs last season is more about luck then anything. The classy teams but you right will just be near top
Raiders had Fogherty last season, very underrated player & general, they're now running two very inexperienced (albeit talented) halves.
Fogherty has also got Manly humming along at the moment. Pity he got homesick and left us when he did. Very calming influence on those around him
Lot of pats on back for Ciraldo last few years now look at the place
What a disaster. I reckon the players still resent Galvin coming in like a ring in
Bloody oath they do. Plus with them going for Metcalf, nobody is safe. How can they feel connected when Gus treats the team as a restaurant owner who changes the menu every month.
They're not chasing Metcalf he's going to the Dragons
Do you make your own luck, or does some form of football god decide the luck. Interesting topic Eli.
Most of the teams play the exact same style of footy so I think a lot of it comes down to luck and the whistle. Most nrl sides very similar with structures
