He could well do but he better have an answer for it as guys like the mentioned are that important.Hes our Brian To'o.
How many wingers do you see up n coming that can come in and have Lomax's input I'd suggest very few.As I don't see any on the market either.
I m actually hoping r360 is Storm in a teacup.I got a coaching friend of mine weighing up the mentioned r360 option also.He was speaking to his agent and he reckons there's at least 20-30 top tier NZ rugby players ready to jump and there shit scared of the nrl scouts getting into nz secondary schools first 15 rugby poaching talent as NZR pathways just aren't as lucrative to keep young players in the game and the lure of the AB jersey is wearing thin .Basically young players want it now.
I think players don't care about the future of R360, only fear at the moment is will they be paid. Many of them will play a year or two, get the massive pay check and piss off. Lomax plays 2 years, gets $6mil and could live off that for rest of his life and make good money back in league.
i believe it happens, but for how long?
Doesn't really matter how long the games both of them don't want to be blacklisting players and talking all tough. If I were running either game I'd be leaving the door ajar for players to go inbetween.I mean your seeing exactly that in womens nrl players are jumping between each code.I actually think they don't want to be closed minded about it.
NZR are in real trouble around there eligibility laws because the rugby in NZ is suffereing a huge depth crisis because there top heave academy weighted model only looks after the top of the game and screws the grass roots.
Well just have to see what he has planned. Could he be just good about it as he is that way as a person or coach? Or is it a strategic decision? Or could he be putting on a brave fave where deep down he is livid and worried?
I don't know, all it was is Ryles took it well and was open to negotiating.
I mean it seemed different with Simonsson where it seems he got him back on side to stay. So not like every player he has say they want out he just toes the line.
Lomax is our To'o but man To'o is better. For his size the shit he can do is insane.
To'o doesn't kick goals so there is that also Lomax has that point of difference over just about every other winger in the comp.So that ability to effects games and results aswell.
Good point. Goalkicker tax is up there with leadership tax.
The biggest tax of all is being in the bottom 4-5 teams the last 3 years. This goes without saying if you want top tier talent without TPAs you pay for it on the cap.
73% conversion rate. I wouldn't put him in the elite of goal kicking this year for sure. Considering up to 10 1st choice kickers at least had better percentage than him this year. If I'm wanting someone to kick for my life I ain't considering Lomax.
He is a top Winger but again X-factor? I wouldn't even call To'o X-Factor either. X-Factor is a term used so loosely when it should be for those once in a generation type talents and/those who can take a team from 10-12 down and single handedly win the game.
The one kick that put him above the rest was against the Dragons from 40 out to tie it up.
Xfactor imo is something helps a team get a result the more influence you have on games this imo decides what that exactly is.People are trying to put xfactor in a box to quantify what it is Pou mentions leadership there's another thing not mentioned.I mentioned goalkicking and yardage coming out.The fact teams gameplan around how to stop Lomax chasing and competing for those high kicks alone tells me that's an xfactor player purely because on a teams defensive tip sheet during the week they'll have a plan for Lomax whatever that maybe throw in elite yardage player and goalkicking as other strings to his bow tells me he's got that xfactor.
Much like Sivo and Radradra before him.
See I would have Radradra as X-factor, his ability to just create something from nothing. Sivo I wouldn't say was X-Factor. 2019 showed glimpses.
Yeah teams plan for great players, I was involved with an interview for Luke Vella on a podcast I was on, he mentioned his role and how he and the dogs staff game planned for certain players. They were playing Manly and he mentioned a game plan for Garrick and Talau. Do we consider them X-Factor just because their is a gameplan on them defensively?
Im glad that you said in your opinion though, if in your opinion an X-factor means that then that's as you say your opinion, though that puts the group into more broad category. To me X-Factor is a smaller more select group that not only helps a team win, but makes a team win. Does Brisbane win on Sunday without Walsh? That's what I see as X-Factor. Despite the fact that Shibasaki had 200 metres running and two tries, Walsh was apart of his two tries. Doesn't mean Shibasaki is not good, he still needed to do his job but it Walsh that was the main facilitator.
To me, I put it down to if you are down by 4 with 2 mins to go, who is the person you are looking at to win you that game? That is an X-factor. Those who do it multiple times.
Are there any in NZ or Fiji rugby we should look at Coryn though with X-factor traits?
