    • I disagree, Melbourne get stronger and we get nothing. Vaalepu and Pahulu weren't even near the 19 for Melbourne. I would rather him not benefit Melbourne more than take any 1 of those 2 players.

      • They also offered 200k cap relief or 750k. Could've definitely helped. I wonder what other clubs were prepared to offer too.

        • Nothing as nobody wanted him. The money does stuff all for us. Melbourne get an international for money we don't need and a fringe player that might not even be better than what we have.

    • Nope, this is exactly what we were demanding. Now he goes off to Rugby and Melbourne don't get an international.

  • We can't complain. This is precisely what was happening when we released him. We get his cap money to use elsewhere. We don't give our competitor (who just pumped us) a rep player to compete against us.
Case closed. I never want to hear about this bloke again.

  • The issue we have now is we struggle to close deals for high tier talent players. That was an issue for this regime before this saga.

It still doesn't take away from us stopping Melbourne basically trying to run the table on us we stopped that and all we have to improve on now is closing deals for the above or we can go elsewhere looking for outside backs wink wink nudge nudge.

  • And that's exactly what was supposed to happen when he demanded his release 6 months ago. Club was prepared to release him then with nothing in return. Status quo remains.

The only great outcome for us is he will never line up against us.

    • Nor for the Storm....at least for two years

  • I honestly cant believe people are complaining that we didnt get anyone. We were never getting anyone who was like for like. What we did was stop a copetitor from bending us over and taking a rep player for nothing.

    • And that's exactly what the court case was about.
