Sign the bloke. He is very similar to Sam Tuivita. Both played u19 origin blues together. He ran for 200m+ last week in nsw cup and still didnt get called into their side lol. Unlike the other duds from the DT article, this bloke is young and heaps of upside.

Is Ryda, Petrus and Fletcher the best juniors we have?
to me our top 5 juniors that we have that haven't played nrl yet is Lorenzo (20), Petrus (19), Koina (19), Seuseu (16) and Popo (20). Popo hasn't played much this year due to injury but last years form puts him on this list for me. Could argue the same thing about Polley. Interested to know SB and PT top 5 juniors at the club right now.
The mix things i have heard about Ryda is disappointing. Koina could be the one we lean over Ryda. Hope they all get some Cup time later in the year.
I am surprised you didn't have Bamblett in your top 5, EA. But i know how high you are on Petrus, going as far as to say he could be a regular in FG next year.
Bamblett has heaps of potential but he is not very consistent and can be an individual player rather than a team player at times which is why he is not in my top 5.
Shit you would have hated Steve Ella when he came through!
What's up with Ryda is he overrated?
i wouldnt say hes overrated, id say hes still raw. He needs to work on the little things that he wont get away with at NRL level. Hes still a great talent.
Thought he was superior prospect to Sam even heard rumours Panthers really wanted him more then Blaize .
I would say he's a similar prospect to Sam. Let's not forget that Sam was a blue chip prospect himself, x2 Aus schoolboy and NSW u19 rep. And Sam has exceeded my projections. He is playing way better in FG than he did in the step up to Flegg/cup.
Ryda is just as promising. I think he's received more publicity due to Blaize though. No guarantees that he will thrive in NRL like Sam has
This should highlight how good some of the other kids coming through are.
I think Ryda is someone who rises to the bigger stage. The bigger the occasion or higher the graade, I feel the better he performs. The lower the stage, the worse he performs. Almost like he plays to the level of his opposition no matter if they are shit, average or good (trait of the eels as a club lol).
I think that comes back to his attiude and mindset which is why I call him lazy at times.
It would make sense why he handled himself in JF and NSW cup as an 18 year old.
