Some of you might remember a blog that Turpy posted last year about young Eels junior footy player Jake and his father Stephen, who was club secretary for the Girraween Eagles.

Both were involved in a terrible car accident that left them both pretty busted up.
I was sent a message by a lady who runs a program called Good Sports Junior, which works with junior sporting clubs to help them create healthy and strong club environments, and is supported by the nib foundation.
Tomorrow night, via that project, little Jake will be the Blues mascot at Origin. The family will get a pre-game inner sanctum tour of the rooms, sit in Category A seats and Jake and Stephan (dad) get to stand on the field as the players run out!
Here's a pic of Jake when he found out. Good luck little man, and all the best in doing your bit to bring glory to the mighty Blues! And well done to Good Sports and the nib foundation.

Good luck Jake.... hope you have an awesome time buddy & go the Blueeeeesssss!!
Very jealous of you Jake, although a 59 yo mascot may be a little weird.
Have a great and memorable experience, Go Blues.
A really nice, feel good story... Enjoy the night Jake and go the Blues!
Thanks for posting Phil.
BTW, unbelievably Jake is back playing for the U8's side. He has a little way to go and another operation later this year but he has had great support from the Rugby League community.
That's awesome to hear, he's back playing footy, Turps!
Yes, goodness bless him !!
