Let's talk footy

Ok guys enough for today lol what a circus so let's actually talk footy or cricket i don't care. What are people's thoughts on the new day/night concept for the Aus vs NZ cricket test match which will feature a pink ball to enhance seeing it under lights? Is this signalling an aspect which highlights how far behind the 8 ball the NRL is? Instead of implementing change the NRL has eradicated rules to 'modernize' the game, all while the classic games i watch were so simple and enjoyable. Has the greatest change to rugby league in 40 years been introducing the synthetic footy and getting rid of tight AFL style shorts? Maybe in 10 years HD footy will be standard on 9 since i think they are 10 years behind. The reason why i mentioned the pink ball is cricket hasn't changed a rule just a piece of equipment, the game is still pretty much played the same which can't be said of RL.

  • The Pink ball shouldn't be tested in our summer of cricket.... The fact that if Rodgers didn't retire after the Ashs this year he would have to sit out the game due to his colour blindness shows the ball is not ready for our summer.
  • Ive always really likes the idea of playing test cricket into the night, the atmosphere at night after the crowds been on the piss all arvo would be huge, it would get pretty rowdy like a one dayer.

And who doesnt like the idea of playing with big pink balls.

    • The idea is great, I would love prime time test cricket too...but the ball is not ready.
    • It's great for workers at finishing times in the arvo and young kids, it will put bums on seats. I'm not sure why the NRL scrapped local derby double headers? I remember Parra vs Wests and the Dragons vs Canterbury back in 2003 at Telstra Stadium, the crowds were really good which added to the atmosphere in such a big place. Hello next CEO? If test cricket can think of a new idea i'm sure we can bring back an old one, two games of footy for like $25 is fair to me.
    • If you want full grounds first round Eels @ home, Broncos @ home, Dogs @ Belmore, Cowboys @ home Saturday night. Dragons @ home, NZ @ home, Storm @ home and Souths v Roosters.
    • Spot on mate - I think it may well be a winner. Not all tests, keep the big traditionals as all day affairs - but do a couple per year.

  • Mo you shouldn't take anything to heart on social media! Alhamdulillah ;) haha change the name of the blog i wanted to talk footy and everyone is talking cricket...... mind you interesting to see how the new look aussie team go, finally they picked some up and comers
  • Silly season is killing me.
    • Kills all of us brother lol
  • Since this is now officially the silly orf season & irrelevant matters r supposedly tolerated, I was wondering how Bellyache will impact Cheyse Blair's game. I was quite surprised when the Storm signed him. IMO he has never really shown a lot in FG when he was with us or with the Silvertails. Funny if he turns out to be effective out wide & here we r chasing outside backs when u consider that we actually paid to get rid of him.

"Cheers LB. I just can't go past him, the only 5/8 on that list to play for Australia and multiple times, back in the 2000's he was one of our best players, i'd say he could even be second to the great Brett Kenny for us."

Ok so going through these rapid fire, particularly this one as this i reckon would be 100% for one player. I did some Halfbacks to make it respectful but not many to choose from.Dylan Brown won the vote at 6.https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HGCBD291.…
