Few here saying he will stay at Newcastle, issue is they have no money to really extend him further apparently. Media are basically saying they might have to let him go if he wants to as they have no coin at all. They can afford him on his current rate but Thompson, rightfully so, wants double.
Knights recruitment boss Peter O’Sullivan only joined the club mid-season and has made re-signing Thompson one of his priorities to build a title contender in the coming seasons.
O’Sullivan has reportedly offered Thompson an upgrade for 2025 and an extension, but Thompson will wait to see what else is out there
"The NRL worked out the eels doing great doesn't add any value, we are already one of the most watched teams and our fans are die hard loyal, on the flip side there is no harm to their brand if the eels do bad as we have one of if not the most loyal…"

Chooks gotta be favorite.
Followed by: Dogs, Riff and Dargons.
Could just all be a way to get more money out of Newy though, his brother is going to join him in Newy so would be surprised if he leaves.
Unless Riff offers his brother a Dev deal with top 30 in 2026.
Still obsessed with BEMs idea of trading Gutho and Hunt. If we are going to let our best player go we should atleast get something out of it.
Issue with Hunt theory is he would not go to another Sydney club to play Hooker. If he was to leave Dragons it is back to Queensland also.
I would love to get Hunt as a Hooker, just works out so well. But better chance of seeing Aliens land at Commbank to be fair.
He would be a good replacement for Reg but not a priority.
I think he will stay at the Knights.
