  • He was ectremely quick and beat Martin Offiah in a sprint race at Parra Stadium once

  • Hey mate - put the link up :)

"Leo" was a fan favourite for sure. He had unbelievable speed but if memory serves me correctly he came into league pretty late and was still essentially learning alot about the game when he actually made grade. Maybe played soccer as a young bloke?

That night Parrapete mentioned where he beat Charriots was just a sensational night at Parra Stadium. We beat the touring Great Britain side as well - it was easily the highlight of what was otherwise a pretty ordinary year. I remember I sat directly behind the cheerleaders so, regardless of what happened on the field, I had an awesome night anyways.

Oh, and that match race with Charriots was 100% rigged. Word is the Poms cleaned up with the bookies. Leo was fast but Offiah never got out of second gear - his speed was on another planet altogether.. great memories :)

    • Kram, you beat me to it; Leaping Lee was superb and I was there that night. Sitting in the Thornett stand in the corner; it was a huge night for us during a time of poor results. To beat GB was amazing as was Leaping Lee's win. Here I thought Leaping Lee won fairly and squarely albeit a fast start......I am sure he was a junior soccer player, hence his goalkicking too.

        • Enjoy guys, he has a few secret revelations about the race, also plenty on his early sporting years and some very interesting stories about his family background

If you don't want to listen online, on a podcast app (like spotify, apple, etc) just search Talking with TK

          Enjoy

          • Thanks Bud

      • It was the best night hey mate. Those cheerleaders were jumping up and down like there was no tomorrow :))

We went back to The Albion after the game and watched it again on TV there - I remember we got our heads on the tele about 4 times (courtesy of the cheer girls) - good times!

        • hahaha i've heard this from so many Parra fans. My brother had it on VHS, he made me watch it every weekend lol

        • Kram I was about 22 and had my GF sitting with me in the Thornett stand even though she was Manly, she was more interetsed in Chariots, and I am sure Chris Warren commentated on the race? He even joked about Greg Drake competing. You  may have been pre-occupied.
