Knights and Cowboys fighting over Sandon Smith

A bidding war has broken out between the Knights and Cowboys for the services of Sandon Smith. Knights have offered a 4 year deal and Cowboys a 3 year 1.3 million dollar deal. Most of us wanted the club to join in on this (me included) but Ryles has backed Joash and once again seems to be on the money with his assessment. Guess we'll just have to start trusting his judgement on these things 😂

      • Whilst our pack had been good enough , the likes of rcg etc were overrated and got many plaudits that wasn't deserved ... during our peak people forget the nothing sets from our end and how many times Moses kicked us out of trouble ... hence why we got blown off the park in the grand final as couldn't handle the intensity

        • I agree with that Kenny, I have always been a fan of RCG but was not in the slightest disappointed we lost him at the end last year. His Ken Thornett medal  was actually a case of the best of the worst. For reasons unknown Brown & Gutho were the only real candidates and did not seem to be in the reckoning.

The player last year who should have won it was Dyllan Brown who effectively has had his career ruined by being along with Gutherson the only person that busted their guts every time they ran out. Brown particularly because he carried so much criticism as an organiser and he never was one. I do not believe he will ever attain the peaks he once had playing for us and NZ

Talking of Ken Thornett medals we have always had some great Rookie of the year awards, but here is one to think about our rookie of the year award this year as it could also be our Ken Thornett medal winner.

i.e. Rylie Smith and/or Iongi could be winners of either or both. Although my favourite for the Thornett winner would be JAC for mine!

You guys who analyse this sort of shit could write a good blog about this. If someone decides to do so premise this post, no need to reference me.

  • Ive said it before and i guess ill say it again not a Eels matter

  • Turns out that Jackson Koina who we signed has been an eels fan his whole life. His family are eels supporters too. Hope the Aussie school boy turns out great

    • Is anyone else JF stream lagging like crazy

    • Lol. Imagine Dylan Brown as their 7. He's a running 6 not an organiser

      • We are viewing a lousy feed of the flegg against Melbourne but after being down 12nil early we've imposed ourselves to lead 32-12 at oranges.

we're scoring at will and Neemia who came off the bench is making some great hit-ups and is looking great.

        • The last 10min of the first half was too laggy to see any play. Rokusuka looked to have scored a good try. Shame couldnt see it
