Talakai being shopped.

Think his name has been brought up a few times but definitely a player we should be looking at if rumours are true. Currently playing off bench as an impact middle but can also play centre if needed. Would also push Russell to keep his spot I think he'd fit in well at Parra. Thoughts ?

He is one of the better bench players in the NRL.  Can play at high level in the middle as well as on an edge and centre. When fit his leg speed and power can provide plenty of havoc in attack and usually attracts 2 or more defenders when in the attacking 20 metre zone.

I would be more than happy to see him in Eels colours............ If the price was right.

  • We could do with an 'X factor' player - and Talakai is certainly that.

Get him for around $250k - $350k per season and I'm all for it!

    • Yeah sharks salary cap isn't great and they just need to clear room, that's how the eels can strike and improve our roster by looking for those opportunities. Not much in the off contract pool to target really

  • hope we go for him always liked him

thought he was only just re-signed

  • Waste of cap space.

He is no better than what we have already.

I would take Williams, Kautoga, Tualagi, Guymer and Samrani at 2nd row over Talakai.

I would take Williams, Paulo, Tui, Moretti, Doorey and Hopgood at Prop over Talakai.

We need a top quality centre and Talakai certainly doesn't fit that description.
