KITIONE KAUTOGO

Kitione was superb last night. His defence and go forward were spot on and he was close to best on field. Displayed a great motor. Played the entire game with excellent intent.  Our future is looking bright!

  • Agreed he did play well...consistency is the important thing here. He has potential but needs to be more consistent.

  • Needs to be more consistent.  He's had enough time at various clubs to iron out his flaws. Im not sold on him and wouldn't be offering him anything special to re sign.   Last week he threw a ball and hit a bloke in the second tier of the grandstand

  • I think he could be a very good player but his fitness has to improve. I feel he gets fatigued which causes him to make too many errors

    • That's a good call I saw a couple of fitness issues myself where he gave up on the chase or was just plain fatigued where Australia made breaks and he dint or just couldn't put himself in the picture.

      • I have had a mixed reaction to KK and finally came around to how good he could be or was becoming, I think he has the potential to be amongst the very best edge forwards in the game. I was very excited about for him this season past as I felt he had got rid of a lot of the errors that always marked his game down.

I watched him closely last night and agree with what Coryn said (he doesn't miss much), slightly disappointed that he did not have that extra desire when things were desperate. First game back and no doubt his condition told.

NB The final point and a criticism of both Mitchy and Chief in saying "consistency", apparently it is easy to identify such things as a player is coming through, but not so easy when he improves those criticques. The other thing is Ryles loves him and has backed him on many occasions when we all thought he was a bridge too far. Chiefies "hyperbole" is getting worked up because he was sitting in the second tier of the grandstand, wanking away and imagining he was passing to him. Needless to say Chiefy dropped the ball, a common occurence in reality as against fantasy.

  • He did well - fiji really stuck it to the kangaroos. Not sure how we can win the tournament when we lose every damned forward battle. Forwards are going be bashed up by any of the nz, tonga or samoa teams.

  • Agree thought he went fantastic. Good on him!

  • He'd be better coming off the bench for us in 27.

    • He is better than that and these days Doza they want the edges to play the 80 minites and revolve the middles.

      • Fair enough. He has become a decent pick up for us.

"Yeah one thing about Hayne is his footy brain is incredible. Had he not had the off-field drama, i reckon he would make a decent enough coach. He has seemed to have matured out of sight compared to his playing days."
