Parramatta NRL player Kenny Edwards has been placed on a six-month good behaviour bond and suspended indefinitely by the club, for spraying water and pouring alcohol on his former partner.Edwards pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge of common assault at Parramatta Local Court on Monday.Magistrate Theo Tsavdaridis said while he did not wish to trivialise domestic violence, the 27-year-old's action were "at the lower end of the scale"."This is a young man who needs management and oversight rather than a conviction or punishment in the traditional sense," he told the court. The incident happened after an argument, with Edwards spraying water from a bottle onto his ex-partner Madison Campbell's face and body.He then poured an alcoholic beverage on her while she was in bed.Great tips for getting rid of that cable clutterNational Broadband Network Sponsored An intimidation charge against Edwards was dropped and no conviction was recorded but an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was put in place.Outside court, Edwards said he was sorry for his actions."I just want to apologise to my young family, to the club and to the NRL," he said.

  • Who takes his place?!!!

  • If it was only a drink, now reverse the role and be a cop going there to arrest her for doing that to him and you see how ridiculous it is.Fcuk me dead it's a world gone mad to waste the courts time over some of the things that are regarded as Common Assault. My God assault to me is physically hitting someone, the rest I class as a form of abuse which is bad also but abuse none the less..
    • I bet cops thought it was ridiculous too, but when it comes to domestics they have no choice I reckon. Worse case scenario they turn up at a domestic, they ignore it (downplay the water incident), they leave and then later the bloke beats her or worse.

You do realise the cops will get their arses kicked over it, possibly even charged depending on the circumstances.

Unlike magistrates and judges cops aren't exempt from being sued or charged for showing a blind eye to the facts.
  • I would think guilty is guilty despite the non-conviction. To save face I'm expecting at least 3 matches imposed by the club. Personally I think that's fair enough.

He plead guilty to domestic common assault.
Unfortunately for him whether that related to water or punches is largely irrelevant when it comes to this sort of stuff. Women's rights groups would be watching very carefully to this I'm sure. Whether you or I agree with that is also largely irrelevant. So I won't state my opinion on this punishment.
    • Water.
