You'd think any tackle like that causing injury should be 4 weeks like couchman. Set the precedent don't land on peoples legs lol. Disappointing from nrl but hopefully Iongi avoided bad injury still needs scans

Totally disgraceful! If they're serious about stopping the 'Hip Drop' tackles then it should be equal consequences! The tackler should be out of the game the same amount of time the injured player is out
Yep make it simple you land on someone legs and cause injury 4 weeks. They might be more careful if punishment isn't soft

It is due to Iongi only missing a few months compared to Hopgood missing a year. Seriousness of the injury dictated the weeks.

There was a stat last week....in the last two yrs eels players injured from illegal tackles missed a total of 60 matches together, compared to the players that committed the tackles missed 10 matches altogether. And that's not including yesterday's game. Let that make sense.
