  • Well i think we all gathered that once Su'A was signed. He would have a team pick him up, even Perth could do with him. But at this stage his ceiling is lower compared to when we got him.

  • End of the day he'd be a back up if he did stay on and 4th down the pecking order.  That's not considering potentially blocking cup development of latu and jeziah who will be going from developmental to full time contracts next year

    • That could get him half a season by itself these days.

  • No Jack Williams.

  • If we resign Kelma it would be another black mark on O'neill's resume.  The most inconsistent player ever.

    • Why would it be a black mark on MON's resume. It's not his choice who we sign or re-sign.

      • Here's the club statement on the appointment of MON:

        https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2018/10/05/club-statement-eels-ap...

        Specifically:

"Mark will implement the overall football strategy with responsibilities across performance management, salary reviews and staff contracting. Mark will oversee all aspects of the Football Department including Recruitment, Junior Representative Program, High Performance Unit, Parramatta Junior League, Player Wellbeing and Education, football operations and training facilities."

Do you have better information than the Club Statement Michael?

        • Exactly.  The overall roster is mark's job

        • Cappy to be fair, that is a house keeping statement, with the subheadings across a spectrum of responsibilities.

It also includes the following; "Mark will be working very closely with our Head Coach, Brad Arthur."

Now strictly speaking the overseeing of those responsibilities is actually that "overseeeing"..... that can be interpreted as adequately managed, which is subjective as the circumstances allow.

This also reflects on the board and the CEO and then the Chairman.....we sort of all accept that things are not
"rosey" the post that settles that is "Black Mark" on MONS resume......we know that Recruitment from his perespective is like a Human Resources process, the Coach has the the final say on that, Junior League has a structure, so does the Junior Reps (they are going well as is the women) does MON get any accolades, I would say not, the respective coaches get/ do that. He does, not withstanding that presumably have a selection role in those coaches. He would not with the FG Coach. Football operations and training facilities (does he do the ground keeping and mark out the fields) No, but we do have a centre of excellence that has been developed in his time, did he have anything to do with that....I would say No, but it is on his resume and responsibilties!

Now it I was on the other side of this post and being my contrarian self, I could tear strips off what I have just said in this post, but it does demonstrate the way things can be looked at.

I said to someone this morning that MON has to go because the perceptions are now so highly against him, it is regardless a fact we cannot retain him.....just like we could not retain BA....are the "sins of the father"a natural follow on.....at this point yes. Let me say but if we selected from who was available for MONs job at the same time we sacked BA, I do not think anything would be much different. We would now be looking at sacking that new person.....guess what Parra is not only not good at R&R but we don't do sacking well either LOL.

Get a guy like Chieka in it maybe different.....

All in all it is a broad set of responsibities and the buck has to stop some where. Assuming the people that are marking his ticket do that.

Given our results of todays standard is a new era of set events.

Now my bullshit aside means that MON has actually met his KPI's of overseeing or in turn they have been overturned, as you would be aware I have consistently maintained he is wrongly titled.

Now we should sack MON and recruit someone to do his job....I am going for Chieka who is currently working as some sort of assistent at the Roosters.

"Agreed, Kautonga's still very young and inexperienced. We have seen glimpses of what he is capable of, but clearly needs much more development. Ideally he'd spend some stints in Cup honing certain skills, but we don't have anybody to take his place."

As for MON, I agree the actual job description he applied for (it was online) and the statement the club…"

"The job description MON was hired under and the club statement of his appointment contradict your view Michael.
Of course the coach is involved. But the buck stops with the GM of Football as per the clubs statements."
