Kayo Sports TV

I have started a 14 day free trial of this app today and am wondering if anyone uses this as there primary way of watching footy live or otherwise?

Am over paying for Foxtel just so I can watch footy! Found this app and sounds good in theory but am after opinions on video quality and any issues with it, and can you watch live shows at the same time they are shown on fox league etc

  • Seen this, haven't bothered although it might have been good when the cricket was on, but I'm not sure what the pricing was or whether you can chromecast it and whatnot. I hate paying for NRL on TV, but cricket sheez I flat out refuse to pay for cricket, reckon it and league should be free for all before both sports become redundant.

    • I am watching NRL 360 at the moment through Chromecast with it, it's $25/month after trial finishes

      • Does that price only give you footy?

        • That price gives you about 50 live sports including NRL, AFL, A-League, NFL, NBA, NHL, Formula 1 and cricket.

          • European handball? My kid is interested in playing, of all things....

  • So I had my Chromecast connected to my 32" HD LED tv in bedroom and looked fine, took it into lounge room and connected to My 55" 4k UHD tv and th picture is not HD... picture keeps freezing also, so I've made up my mind based on those things that this isn't for me at the moment, if they could fix this up it would be great

    • What's your internet speed?

      • Speed test says 22.4Mbps download.. have never had a problem with video quality on Netflix or any other app, the difference in quality between this and Foxtels League channel with HD option is very noticeable to me though

        • You may find distance between the router and the chromecast on the 55" tv could be the issue...as the Chromecast relies on WIFI signal strength. On top of that Kayo may not work the same way Netflix or other streaming apps work.

          • Netflix is stored content, not live streaming which requires higher download speeds. Kayo's pulling a live broadcast feed. 22Mbps download isn't great if you're trying to live stream sport in HD. The fact you're Chromecasting could also be strangling your speed.
