POORE PINING FOR DRAGONS?
THE rumour mill has been running hot with the story that Justin Poore is unhappy at the Eels and has been pining for the Dragons. There has even been talk that Poore tried to back out on his deal with the Eels. ''Yes, I've heard that and I've investigated it,'' Eels boss Paul Osborne said. ''People have told me that Justin isn't happy so I fronted him and he's told me he is fine. I've got to go on his word and I believe him. I'm sure that he is feeling the pressure being the big off-season signing, and the way we are going - well, no one is happy. He is also adapting to a very different style of play at the Eels. It's something I'm aware of and I'll keep an eye on it.''

If a defensive line knows there is no chance of an off load, or they realise they can put all there effort into a single player coming at them as opposed to 2 or 3, let me tell you, it is a heap easier to commit to that attacker and smash him! Thats whats happening at the Eels.
The sooner we hit the line with options, the sooner our forwards will begin to make metres over the advantage line.
Come on
poore fire up
Who is it that determines a failure to perform? What does failure to perform even mean? Further, do all the players have the same conditions in their contract, or are they made specifically for each playeR? How much money does their contract get reduced by? What about players like Robbo who are on smaller contracts anyway... are they still subject to your idea? How many weeks in a row to you have to 'fail to perform' before the contract is reduced? Do we take away a dollar for every missed tackle?
Oh wait.. I have more questions -
Don't you think that such a ridiculous idea would only add fuel to a fire about Parramatta's current lack of performance and help the media attack certain players? Further, do you really think players would want to come to Parramatta if there were such conditions imposed in the contract? Oh and how would this work in terms of the salary cap?
Maybe if we reduced each player's contract because of failure to perform, we could have kept Kevin Kingston!
If you can give one good answer to any of the above questions, I will eat my shoe.
